Nak Won

Nak Won is one of the many Korean restaurants located in the Yonge and Finch area, which is also known as Koreantown.

The restaurant was pretty busy on the Thursday night that I went with a friend. We had to wait for a few minutes for the waitress to clear the table before we were seated. There are several reviews online that states that the service provided at Nak Won are usually minimal, poor, and rude. I do agree that the service was relatively minimal (gave us a menu, took orders, and then brought food to the table), but our waitress' attitude was pleasant. My friend and I weren't rushed to leave by the staff even after we paid our bill.

One thing that I did like about Nak Won was that they have a wider selection of bachan which are refillable. The bachan that we had were kimchi, white radish, seaweed, glass noodles, beans, fish cakes, and bean sprouts.

Many of the dishes are well under $10.00, so it's a very affordable place to eat. I opted for the La Kalbi Jungsik (seasoned marinated, and BBQ beef short ribs served on a hot plate with rice) ($12.99) since I love ribs. Overall, I thought that the dish was only okay as it contained a lot of fatty pieces, and also lacked flavor.
